Privacy policy
Mitya is a Chrome extension for Google Meet. It reads the captions Meet shows, keeps everything in your browser, and sends text only to the AI provider you choose. Nothing ever reaches a server run by Mitya, because there isn't one.
What Mitya reads
-
On
meet.google.comonly: the live captions Meet displays, the name Meet shows next to each caption, and the meeting code in the page address. - What you type into Mitya: the meeting brief, agenda, names and settings.
Mitya never records or listens to audio. It does not use your microphone, capture the tab, or join the call. If captions are off, it reads nothing.
Where it is stored
Everything is kept in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage) on your
device. It is not synced to your Google account. That includes:
- your settings, including the API key for your provider;
- your brief, agenda, names and custom meeting kinds;
- the transcript, notes and recap of each meeting;
- ChatGPT sign-in tokens, if you use that option.
Meetings stay in your history until you delete them. Your API key is stored as you entered it, protected by Chrome's extension storage rather than by separate encryption.
What is sent, and to whom
Mitya sends requests only to the one AI provider you have connected, using your own key or account:
- Groq (
api.groq.com) - Anthropic (
api.anthropic.com) - OpenAI (
api.openai.com) -
ChatGPT, if you sign in with it (
auth.openai.comandchatgpt.com)
During a call, each request contains your brief, the names in the meeting, and the most recent caption lines. When a meeting ends, the transcript is sent once to write the recap. When you add names, only the names are sent to suggest how to pronounce them.
That provider handles the text under its own terms and privacy policy, and you are its customer, not Mitya. Chrome only lets Mitya reach a provider after you grant it permission for that site.
What Mitya never does
- No Mitya server, account or sign-up.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting.
- No selling or sharing of data, and no use of it for anything but the features above.
- No access to pages other than Google Meet.
Deleting your data
- Delete any meeting and its transcript from the History view.
- Sign out of ChatGPT in Settings to remove its tokens.
- Edit or clear your brief, names and custom kinds at any time.
- Remove the extension from Chrome to erase everything it stored.
To delete what a provider has received, use that provider's own controls. Mitya cannot reach data it never held.
People on the call
Mitya reads what other people say through Meet's captions. Let people know when you use an AI assistant in a meeting, and follow your workplace's rules and local law.
This website
mitya.nurzaman.dev has no analytics and sets no cookies. It remembers your
sound preference in your browser's local storage. The host, Vercel, keeps standard request
logs to serve the site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. A change that sends your data somewhere new will also be announced in the extension's release notes.
